The German Society of Paramedic Science (DGRe) was founded in 2019 with the name “Society for the Advancement of Science in Paramedicine”. The DGRe was created to develop and expand research capacities and activities within the German paramedicine and related sciences.

The specific goal here is to generate new knowledge, collect it and make it available to paramedics in various ways. The Rettungswissenschaft is to be understood as the scientific arm of the Notfallsanitäter (German paramedic) activity and is known in the English-speaking world as “Paramedicine” or “Paramedic Science”. It is a symbiosis of emergency medicine, health sciences, and public safety. In addition, the rescue sciences dealt with related topics of related sciences such as medicine, psychology, medical technology, adult education, communication, management, and health services research.

In order to make the resulting knowledge available to the paramedical staff, the DGRe is already holding the second scientific specialist congress.
